Fly an ARGON in the UK: Where We Are, Honestly

We cannot take you up in Britain yet. Here is exactly why, and what we can do instead.

If you have read your way here from one of our articles and you want to go and sit in one, this is the page where we stop selling for a moment.

We have instructors. We do not yet have an ARGON in Britain to fly you in. A factory-built gyroplane has to be type approved before it can be registered and flown here, and the ARGON GTL is going through that now. Until it finishes there is no UK example, and we are not going to invite you to an airfield to look at photographs.

Where the certification stands

In August 2026 Manufaktura Lotnicza achieved CAA A8-21 Factory Approval. That is the production half - the CAA is satisfied with how and where the aircraft is built. The remaining step is full BCAR Section T type certification, which is what allows a UK registration. If you are not tied to Britain, other European registrations are open now - and the licence that goes with each one is a different length of road.

We are not going to give you a date. Regulators take the time they take, the honest answer is that we do not know, and a month we announce and then miss would cost us more than saying nothing. The aircraft is already type-certified in six other countries, which is a reason for confidence and not a timetable.

What we will do rather than waste your Saturday

Point you at a UK school, including one that is not us. There are good gyroplane schools across Britain - we send our own students to one of them. Tell us roughly where you are and we will say which is nearest. You will not be flying an ARGON, but you will be flying, and every hour counts towards the same licence.

Or compress the whole thing in the Algarve. The UK licence takes 40 hours. Flown at British weekends that usually becomes six months or a year, because weather cancels more lessons than everything else put together. In Portugal it is about four weeks, and it splits into two fortnights. That course is ours, it runs now, and it is the one thing we can offer today that nobody in Britain can match.

Or order one. We take UK orders now and build slots go in the order they are taken, so if you already know what you want, being early is worth something. The GTL from £165,000, the 915 iS from £125,000.

Until then, the next best thing

A finished GTL, nose to tail: the enclosed carbon cabin, the engine bay, the Garmin panel and the leather inside. It is not a flight, and we are not pretending it is.

ARGON GTL walkaround - outside and in

Be told the day there is one to sit in

Send us your name, roughly where you are, and what you would want to do - a first flight, a demonstration before buying, or the licence. When there is an aircraft in Britain we will contact you.

Not a newsletter and not a drip campaign: that one message, and whatever conversation you want to have off the back of it. If you would rather not hear from us again afterwards, say so on the form and you will not.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fly an ARGON in the UK today?

Not with us, and we would rather tell you plainly than have you drive somewhere to find out. We have instructors, but no demonstrator aircraft in Britain yet - the ARGON GTL is going through UK certification and until that finishes there is no UK-registered example for us to fly you in. The moment there is, this page changes.

Why is there no ARGON to fly in Britain yet?

Because a factory-built gyroplane needs UK type approval before it can be registered and flown here. Manufaktura Lotnicza achieved CAA A8-21 Factory Approval in August 2026 - that is the production side, and it is done. Full BCAR-T type certification is the remaining step. We are not going to guess at a date; regulators take the time they take, and a promised month we then miss would be worse than silence.

So where can I fly a gyroplane in the UK?

There are established schools across Britain and they are good. We send our own students to one of them, and we will point you at whichever is nearest rather than pretend the option does not exist. You will not be flying an ARGON, but you will be flying, and everything you learn transfers.

What can I do with you right now?

Two things. Our intensive course in the Algarve puts a UK licence within about four weeks of flying instead of the six months to a year British weather usually turns 40 hours into. And you can order an aircraft - we take UK orders now, and build slots are allocated in the order they are taken.

How will I know when an ARGON is flying here?

Ask us to tell you. Send your name, roughly where you are and what you want to do, and we will contact you when there is an aircraft to sit in - not a newsletter, just that one message. If you would rather not hear from us again after it, say so and you will not.
