Where to Buy a Gyrocopter in the UK
The dealers, what each one sells, and which aircraft the CAA has approved
New gyrocopters in the UK are bought from the makers' UK dealers. The CAA's list of type-approved gyroplanes has seven entries, all from two makers: AutoGyro, sold here by AutoGyro UK, and Magni, sold by Magni Gyro UK. Manufaktura Lotnicza of Poland also has a UK dealer, for the ARGON range, whose GTL is completing BCAR Section T approval - and that dealer is us, Argo Aero UK, so read the rest knowing which one we sell. Used gyrocopters change hands mainly through AFORS and the British Rotorcraft Association's For Sale pages.
Everything said here about another company comes from that company's own website, the CAA or the British Rotorcraft Association, as read on 2 October 2026. Where they publish nothing - prices, in particular - we say nothing rather than repeat a figure from somewhere else.

By AutoGyro's own account its production began in 2003 and it came to the UK in 2006; the UK company, formerly RotorSport UK, is at Wentnor in Shropshire and offers sales and service for AutoGyro machines - the enclosed Cavalon, the tandem Calidus and the open MTOsport and MTOclassic. Five of the seven types on the CAA's approved list are theirs. auto-gyro.co.uk

Argo Aero UK - us
Argo Aero UK Ltd is the UK dealer for Manufaktura Lotnicza, which builds the ARGON gyroplanes in Poland and holds CAA A8-21 Factory Approval. The ARGON GTL - an enclosed side-by-side two-seater, from £165,000 excluding taxes and delivery - is completing BCAR Section T, and we are taking UK orders for it now. The ARGON 915 iS (from £125,000) follows it through certification. The three-seat GTL Triple cannot be approved under Section T, which allows two occupants. Until the GTL is on the list above, it is the one aircraft in this table that cannot yet be registered in the UK - weigh that as you would any other fact here.
Which gyroplanes are approved in the UK?
In the CAA's words: “Commercially manufactured gyroplanes with a MTOW of 600kg or below are excluded from the basic regulation so are Type Approved under the Air Navigation Order in accordance with BCAR Section T.” Each approved type has a Type Approval Data Sheet. On 2 October 2026 the CAA listed seven:
| CAA data sheet | Type | Maker |
|---|---|---|
| BG02 | MTOsport | AutoGyro |
| BG03 | Magni M16C | Magni |
| BG04 | Calidus | AutoGyro |
| BG05 | Magni M24C | Magni |
| BG06 | Cavalon | AutoGyro |
| BG07 | Cavalon Pro | AutoGyro |
| BG08 | MTOsport 2017 | AutoGyro |

Where do you buy a used gyrocopter?
Two places carry most of the UK market. AFORS is a classified marketplace for aircraft with a section for autogyros, new and used. The British Rotorcraft Association puts members' aircraft on the For Sale pages of its website until they are sold, and in its magazine for one issue. What to look for, and the number that matters more than the price, is in our guide to buying a used gyrocopter.
Who maintains gyroplanes in the UK?
The dealers service the makes they sell. Independently, Gyrocopter HQ at Sleap in Shropshire offers sales, training, maintenance and rebuilds, and the British Rotorcraft Association lists Arion Aviation at Rochester in Kent as certified to work on Magni and AutoGyro aircraft. For the ARGON, servicing in the UK is ours - see gyrocopter maintenance.
Can you try one before you buy?
Yes, and you should. The Gyrocopter Experience flies experience flights and trains at several locations in the UK and abroad, and Gyrocopter HQ offers experience flights at Sleap. We fly experience flights and the intensive licence course in the Algarve, Portugal.
